Fairy Dust Bakery

SECTION A

TERMS & CONDITIONS – WEDDING ORDERS

DEPOSIT

A non-refundable deposit of £100.00 is required to secure the date and confirm your wedding cake booking with us. This deposit is deducted from the final balance of your wedding cake.  An enquiry does not secure a date. Deposit payment indicates your agreement with our Terms & Conditions.

PRICE QUOTATIONS

All price quotations, written or verbal, are valid for 30 days from the date of quotation.

CAKE TASTER BOXES

If you book and pay for a cake taster box, before you have paid a deposit for your wedding cake, Fairy Dust Bakery will put a temporary hold on your wedding date for up to five days after your box has been delivered. After that point and if we do not hear from you during this time, the date will be opened back up for other enquiries.

CAKE DESIGN, DECORATION AND STRUCTURE

Fairy Dust Bakery will do their best to produce a cake which matches the design agreed with you.  Fairy Dust Bakery has the right to use artistic licence to alter the design of the cake where needed should the design not ‘flow’ when decorating the cake.  These would be minor alterations.  Anything more significant and Fairy Dust Bakery would consult with you first.

Fairy Dust Bakery uses food safe dowels to keep the tiers of each cake stable. It is your responsibility to ensure these are removed before serving.  The same applies to any non-edible decorative items such as fresh or dried flowers or foliage, sugar flowers, and any other non-edible decorative items that have been chosen by you.  They must all be removed before cutting and serving the cake.  Fairy Dust Bakery will not take responsibility for any injury or adverse effect caused from the ingestion or other contact with the decorations used on the cake, unless they are very clearly edible such as fruit, macarons or chocolates.

PAYMENT

The final balance payment is due by one month before the wedding date, as specified on the invoice.  Payment can be made earlier if you wish but no earlier than 6 months before your wedding date.

CANCELLATIONS AND ALTERATIONS

You must notify Fairy Dust Bakery immediately if you wish to make any changes to your order.  Fairy Dust Bakery will do their best to accommodate any changes requested but cannot make any guarantees.  The price may alter depending on the alterations requested.  Requests for alterations must be made no later than one month before the wedding date.

If you wish to change your wedding date, you may be asked to pay an amendment fee. Any date changes may also incur an increase in the cake price if the new date goes into the next calendar year.

In the event that you cancel your booking with Fairy Dust Bakery, it is unlikely that the wedding date will be filled and the following cancellation charges will apply:

                One month or less – 100% of invoice cost

                One month or more – loss of deposit

In the unlikely event that Fairy Dust Bakery has to cancel your order, Fairy Dust Bakery will offer a full refund and provide suggestions for a replacement cake maker.

Force Majeure: for the purposes of your cake order with Fairy Dust Bakery, a Force Majeure event means an event beyond the reasonable control of Fairy Dust Bakery including but not limited to an act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule or regulation, accident, fire, flood or storm.  Fairy Dust Bakery shall not be liable to the Customer as a result of any failure to perform its obligations under this contract as a result of a Force Majeure event.

ALLERGIES

You must tell us of any food allergies you or your guests may have. The cake is made in a kitchen where nuts are occasionally used.  Therefore, and while every possible care will be taken, the cake could contain traces of nut.  It is your responsibility to advise us of any allergies we need to be aware of. It is also your responsibility to inform your guests that traces of nut could be present in the cake.  The same applies to wheat, gluten, dairy and other allergens regularly handled in our kitchen.

DELIVERY AND SET UP TO THE WEDDING VENUE

Unless the venue is local to the immediate Canterbury area, a delivery fee will be charged based on return mileage to the venue.  Very long distance deliveries may also incur a fee for time.

Fairy Dust Bakery will take photographs of the cake once set up at the venue, both for promotional purposes and as proof of the condition of the cake once set up at the venue.  Once delivered and set up, the cake is no longer the responsibility of Fairy Dust Bakery.

CAKE STAND HIRE

A £10.00 fee is charged for each cake stand or log slice hired.  A refundable security deposit of £35.00 - £100.00 will also be charged.  You accept responsibility for the hired item/s whilst it is at your venue or in your possession.  Unless arranged otherwise, the hired item/s must be returned to Fairy Dust Bakery within two working days after the wedding.  Please liase with Fairy Dust Bakery to arrange a convenient time.  In the event of damage to the cake stand or log slice, the security deposit will not be refunded.  Should the cake stand or log slice be damaged, broken or lost, you will be required to reimburse Fairy Dust Bakery for the replacement.

SECTION B

TERMS & CONDITIONS  - CELEBRATION & CORPORATE CAKES ORDERS

DEPOSIT

A non-refundable deposit of £25.00 is required to secure the date and confirm your cake booking with us. We may ask you for a slightly higher deposit if you cake order is larger than the average size/cost.  Any deposit paid is deducted from the final balance of your cake order.  An enquiry does not secure a date.

COLLECTION AND DELIVERY

You can collect your order from our kitchen in Chartham, Canterbury.  Alternatively, we may be able to deliver.  We charge a flat £5.00 delivery fee for Canterbury addresses.  Any further afield and a delivery fee will be charged based on return mileage to the delivery address.

Fairy Dust Bakery will take photographs of the cake once it is finished, both for promotional purposes and as proof of the condition of the cake at the point of collection or delivery.  Once collected or delivered and set up, the cake is no longer the responsibility of Fairy Dust Bakery.

If you collect your cake, please take every care transporting it.  We strongly recommend a flat space in your boot or passenger foot well.  Tiered cakes will be in a tall box and we do not recommend that these or any of our cakes are placed on car seats, due to their sloping nature.  If the weather is hot, please use your air con.  Unless notified otherwise, please store your cake/s in a cool dry place, in the cake box provided and do not store them in the fridge.

CAKE STAND HIRE

A £10.00 fee is charged for each cake stand hired. A refundable security deposit of £35.00 - £75.00 will also be charged.  You accept responsibility for the hired item/s whilst it is at your venue or in your possession.  Unless arranged otherwise, the hired item/s must be returned to Fairy Dust Bakery within four working days after the order date.  Please liase with Fairy Dust Bakery to arrange a convenient time.  In the event of damage to the cake stand, the security deposit will not be refunded.  Should the cake stand be damaged, broken or lost, you will be required to reimburse Fairy Dust Bakery for the replacement.
